Development of a dry and spirit collection of Afrotropical Diptera (all families), bio-inventory, biodiversity and biogeography. Research interests in the systematics and taxonomy of Afrotropical Diptera in general and the immature stages of Cyclorrhapha. Training and mentorship in Diptera systematics and identification.

Ongoing research projects include: a revision of Afrotropical Curtonotidae (Diptera: Schizophora) and revisionary studies of selected genera of Afrotropical Platystomatidae and Sarcophagidae. Coordinating and editing Volume 4 of the Manual of Afrotropical Diptera.
